Urgent Immigration Update
A new DOJ rule is changing immigration appeals and deadlines are much shorter. These changes take effect March 8, 2026.
What’s changing:
- Appeals may be denied without full review
- Decisions could come in as little as 15 days
- Most people have only 10 days to appeal
- Fewer chances to submit arguments
- Extensions will be rare
Why this matters: Missing a deadline could mean losing your right to appeal. Act fast. If you or a loved one receives an immigration court decision, speak with an attorney immediately.

From Protection To Procedure: The New Reality Of Asylum Cooperative Agreements
Recent developments in immigration jurisprudence have fundamentally altered the landscape of asylum adjudication in the United States. The combined effect of newly operationalized Asylum Cooperative Agreements (ACAs) and the Board of Immigration Appeals’ recent precedent in Matter of C-I-G-M- & L-V-S-G– represents more than isolated policy shifts—they form part of a broader systematic restriction of humanitarian relief that affects both asylum seekers at the border and established parolees already within the United States.
Attorney of the Month:
Robert Powell, Esq.
Robert brings over 18 years of federal immigration experience to Konare Law, including service as a former ICE Trial Attorney and USCIS Immigration Officer. He understands the system from the inside and how to navigate it for his clients.
In this video, Robert shares an important update: we are seeing immigrants with Withholding of Removal or CAT Protection detained and in some cases removed after routine ICE check-ins.
If you have an upcoming ICE appointment, do not go unprepared. Speaking with an attorney beforehand may help reduce risk. Acting early matters.
Konare Law is here to help you understand your options and prepare with confidence.
