Immigrant Visa Interviews Paused for Staff Training

The State Department has temporarily paused or rescheduled immigrant visa interviews worldwide so consular officers can complete additional training on screening and public-charge considerations. If you have an upcoming interview, expect possible delays or a new appointment date — no end date for the pause has been announced yet.

New Form I-485 Required Starting September 18th

USCIS is rolling out a revised Form I-485 with updated public-charge questions. Starting September 18, 2026, older versions of the form will no longer be accepted — with no grace period.
